Doubao-Seed-1.6 是字节于 2025 年 6 月 11 日在火山引擎 FORCE 大会上发布的旗舰通用模型。它引入了自适应思考模式（auto / thinking / non-thinking），在推理、指令遵循和 agent 能力上较 1.5 代有显著提升。该模型支持工具调用、结构化输出，其视觉与闪电版兄弟模型还具备多模态理解能力。
对 TheRouter 路由层用户而言，Doubao-Seed-1.6 是中文优先的推理端点，在数学和代码性能上可与西方前沿模型竞争，而成本大幅降低。思考模式可通过非标准 thinking 参数切换（{type: "auto"|"thinking"|"non-thinking"}）——LiteLLM issue 11879 记录了该扩展。该模型通过 api.therouter.ai/v1 可达，支持完整 OpenAI chat/completions 兼容以及字节特有的思考扩展。
